【Article by GCIT】

On March 21, the Master’s Program in Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) at National Chengchi University (NCCU) welcomed Stanlly Loke, Vice President of Brainstorm 3D, an international leader in virtual production technology. Mr. Loke expressed his appreciation for GCIT’s innovative use of the EdisonPro virtual production system in teaching and marketing applications.

This visit was part of Mr. Loke’s tour of Asia, and he was accompanied by Prince Lin, the General Manager of Forevertek, to foster meaningful exchanges between industry and academia. Mr. Loke praised GCIT for using the EdisonPro system in developing an advanced teaching model. He emphasized its potential as a valuable reference for educational institutions worldwide looking to integrate educational technology.

Since its establishment, GCIT has actively adopted emerging technologies to enhance virtual production in higher education. The foundational integration of Panasonic’s professional video equipment with the EdisonPro system was led by Founding Director, Distinguished Professor Mei-Ling Hsu, in collaboration with TaiwanPlus CEO Michael Yu. This initiative laid the groundwork for a comprehensive teaching environment focused on virtual production.

Under the leadership of the current Director, Distinguished Professor Trisha Lin, GCIT has further expanded the application of virtual production, implementing it not only in course instruction and promotional video production but also extending its use to other areas within the College of Communication and planning its application in online seminars.

GCIT's accomplishments in integrating technology have established it as a leading example of combining virtual production with education and outreach. This program represents a significant innovation in teaching and digital transformation, serving as a valuable case study for academic institutions in Taiwan and worldwide.
