In the current era of AI rapidly developing and influencing various industries, the Master’s Program in Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) at NCCU University is actively creating platforms for students to interact with the latest technology and ideas in the industry. Recently, on April 8th, GCIT students visited Google's Taipei 101 headquarters and on May 6th, they had the privilege of again inviting Tony Chang, the Head of gTech Ads HK/TW, and Claire Chen, the Head of Export Industry and Agency, for another in-depth exchange. Tony Chang has been with Google for over 15 years and leads the advertising technology service team, while Claire Chen, has been with Google for more than 4 years and focuses on helping Taiwanese brand clients expand their businesses overseas.

In this valuable learning opportunity, Tony Chang and Claire Chen shared their rich practical experience at Google. They elaborated on how talents can position themselves to avoid being replaced by machines in the new era dominated by AI and how to enhance their competitiveness through continuous learning and self-innovation.

Tony mentioned that from the 1980s, when computers became an epoch-making product, to the beginning of the Internet in the 1990s, technology’s rapid development has changed how humans live. Since 2016, when Google began to focus on AI, using data analysis and prediction functions to recommend popular topics to users and deepen their understanding of user interests. This change not only highlights the powerful capabilities of AI but also makes "AI replaces functions, not talents" an unavoidable topic. Against this backdrop, today's talents need to redefine their traits and capabilities, maximizing the application of their experience and wisdom in unpredictable work content.

On the other hand, Claire helped students plan their career development and emphasized the importance of continuous learning. She encouraged students to understand their strengths through personality assessments, thereby better positioning themselves in the workplace. Claire advocates for the concept of "Learn, Unlearn, and Relearn," believing that continuous reshaping and updating capabilities are keys to success in fierce competition. She also mentioned that combining creativity, strategy, and human touch will be indispensable elements in the current and future workplaces.

After the speeches, Tony and Claire provided individual guidance to help students plan careers, hoping they can utilize their expertise to find suitable jobs. Through this exchange, GCIT students gained valuable industry insights. They sincerely felt that individuals must continuously innovate to adapt to the rapidly changing work environment in the AI era.
