In an era where digital technology continues to evolve rapidly, talent development has become a focal point across all industries. On April 30, the Master’s program in Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) at NCCU University organized a professional advising event featuring media professional Nicky Hsieh as a guest speaker to offer students an in-depth understanding of the new challenges and opportunities presented in the age of AI.

Nicky Hsieh is a Director at the New Media Entertainment Association (NMEA) and Director at the Digital Marketing Association (DMA). She is also the Chief Strategy Officer at LnData Inc. With over twenty years of experience in the digital industry, Nicky has continued to explore digital marketing, media planning, and extensive data analysis. As a slash career professional, she uses precise marketing strategies to deliver brand messages and convert consumers into loyal customers.

During the event, Nicky emphasized that in the AI era, the new generation of talent not only needs to master various tools but also engage in comprehensive learning. This approach accelerates the accumulation of knowledge and experience that traditionally took 20 years, preparing them for the global competitive arena in just two years. She introduced the impact of AI technology and how to leverage these technologies to enhance one’s competitiveness and understandably.

Nicky highlighted the importance of maintaining one's uniqueness, regardless of the era. "Regulation ensures humans are irreplaceable. Humans rely on tools to assist with work, learning, and business operations. What's most important? It's your uniqueness, each individual's unique qualities," she stated. Nicky also reminded students to reflect on their adversity quotient (AQ), intelligence quotient (IQ), and emotional quotient (EQ), as these aspects are crucial for personal growth and success in the workplace. She encouraged students to continue learning, adapting, and showcasing their unique talents and qualities, to create unparalleled value in a complex and ever-changing world.

Nicky pointed out that in the new era dominated by big data, it's possible to understand a person's culture and activities without ever meeting or visiting their country, similar to how AI learns. This mutual learning model between humans and technology is what will sustain the future workforce. Emphasizing T-shaped learning and perseverance, she advised students to face the challenges of the Alpha generation's mixed reality, global tensions, and resource depletion, highlighting that learning about self-worth is even more crucial than co-existing with technology.

This event offered a valuable learning opportunity for students preparing to enter the workforce, giving them a deeper understanding and insights into the challenges ahead.
