"Established in 1958, the Department of Money and Banking is Taiwan’s oldest university department specializing in the training of financial professionals, with alumni serving in financial institutions, government agencies, universities and research institutes, and private industry. The Department began offering a master’s program in 1996, followed by a doctoral program in 1999. The mission of the Department of Money and Finance is to cultivate and train financial professionals in both theory and practice, with an undergraduate curriculum that supplements a strong foundation with courses in economic theory, financial theory, financial systems and markets, operations and management of financial institutions, accounting and financial management. The master’s program offers further instruction in financial economics, financial engineering and innovation, banking theory, currency theory and policy, bank operations and risk management and options."
