AI, Data, and the Future of Work: QSearch CEO Engages GCIT Students
【Article by GCIT】
As artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly evolves, data analytics and decision-making have emerged as crucial factors in maintaining business competitiveness. On March 16, the Master’s Program in Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) at National Chengchi University hosted a Professional Advising session featuring QSearch CEO and Co-founder Elliot Chou. Chou shared his perspectives on the transformative impact of AI and social data across industries, as well as the future skill sets required for the workforce.
Chou noted that as AI becomes more deeply embedded across industries, the nature of competition is fundamentally changing. “The future of competition is not about who owns the data, but who can understand it faster and make better decisions”. He emphasized that organizations capable of efficiently interpreting and acting upon data will gain a significant competitive edge.
QSearch leverages publicly available data from major social media platforms—including Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Threads, and Facebook—to develop real-time social listening and trend intelligence systems. These tools help businesses monitor market dynamics and audience behavior with enhanced precision. As AI technologies continue to advance, data analysis is becoming more timely and accurate, enabling organizations to optimize marketing strategies and improve decision-making.
Chou also addressed challenges arising from the proliferation of generative AI, emphasizing the increasing importance of information credibility. In an era saturated with AI-generated content, he stressed that verification and critical thinking are more vital than ever. “In the age of generative AI, the ability to verify information is more important than the ability to produce it”. He added that such skills will be essential for future professionals in communication and media.
During the session, students engaged with Chou in discussions on AI applications in media, branding strategies, and career development. He encouraged participants to incorporate AI tools into their daily learning and practice, emphasizing that hands-on experience is crucial for building practical skills. “The real difference lies not in whether you use AI, but in whether you apply it to the right problems,” he concluded.
