【IAIC News】

In an era of rapid AI development and continuous iteration, the Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence Center at National Chengchi University (AI Center) hosted the second "AI Interdisciplinary Sustainability Innovation Contest" in 2025, encouraging students to combine their professional expertise with AI technology for cross-disciplinary innovative applications and experiments, actively exploring the future possibilities of AI.

Since registration opened, this contest has attracted students from different colleges and diverse backgrounds to form teams and participate. By the registration deadline on May 29, a total of 58 teams submitted proposals, representing an increase of 14 teams compared to the inaugural contest, demonstrating NCCU students' high enthusiasm and potential in AI applications and innovation.

The participating teams proposed themes broadly covering smart living and personalized services, real estate security and decision support, smart campus management, mental health and social welfare, sustainable development and circular economy, accessible technology and communication assistance, smart contracts and legal technology, among other diverse domains.

Through careful evaluation by a cross-disciplinary judging panel of internal and external experts, 15 teams stood out and advanced to the finals. The list was announced on the contest's official website on June 30. The 15 finalist proposals fully demonstrate the breadth and depth of AI cross-domain applications, particularly in addressing issues traditionally considered to require substantial human resources or cost investment. Through AI integration, they can provide solutions in more cost-effective and customized ways, reflecting students' excellent performance in social care and technology integration capabilities.

This year's contest also introduced a summer "Online Mentor Workshop," inviting the AI Center's mentor team to form a cross-disciplinary guidance team to help finalist teams further strengthen their proposals and improve the completion and practical feasibility of their results before the finals.

The finals are scheduled for Monday, November 10, where professional judges will select the winning teams on-site. To encourage students' cross-domain innovation and deepen practical applications, this contest offers total prize money exceeding NT$250,000, hoping to inspire more potential AI applications and creative ideas.

The contest's organizing funding was generously donated by NCCU alumnus Mr. Albert Chen(Founder & CEO, Telamon Enterprise Ventures) and Center for Real Estate Research, College of Social Sciences, National Chengchi University. We thank them for their long-term support of AI education development, helping the university promote AI popularization and enabling more students to practice AI technology on campus and make an impact.
