Typhoon GAEMI Prevention Information

In response to the land warning for Typhoon GAEMI issued by the Central Weather Administration, we are implementing typhoon preparations and setting up an emergency notification network.
As of 11:30 AM on July 23rd, Typhoon GAEMI was located at 20.2°N, 125.0°E, 470 kilometers southeast of Eluanbi. All units must prepare thoroughly.
Academic Affairs Office: Class schedules during the typhoon will follow announcements from the Taipei City Government. Please stay informed.
Student Affairs Office: Ensure safety during all activities and be prepared for the typhoon at all times.
General Affairs Office: Please follow the instructions below:
I. Close and secure all doors and windows, and check roofs and drainage before leaving.
II. Turn off power to prevent fire hazards. Park elevators on the second floor.
III. Move vehicles out of underground parking garages. Do not park under trees or near retaining walls. Avoid parking motorcycles in embankment parking spaces.
IV. Resident students should prepare dry food, drinking water, and emergency lighting supplies. Avoid going out during the typhoon and do not use candles during power outages.
V. If school and office closures are announced, campus shuttle buses and reservations for classrooms and venues will be cancelled.
VI. Secure or remove outdoor boards, flags, and signs.
VII. Central air conditioning will be turned off in the General Building of Colleges, College of Commerce Building, Research Building, and Computer Center if wind speeds are too high.
VIII. School and office closures will depend on the Taipei City Government announcements. Summer camp activities will also follow the government’s decision.
IX. After the typhoon, building management staff are to inspect for damage, report any post-disaster conditions, and assist with restoration efforts.
