On April 23rd, Students from the Master’s Program in Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) at NCCU University recently had the opportunity to participate in an inspiring professional advising seminar. The event featured Andy Hsu, Vice President of Sales for Uber Advertising in Taiwan and a seasoned expert in the field, as the keynote speaker. Drawing from his extensive experience at Google's advertising department and Nielsen, Andy Hsu explained to students how Uber, as a startup company, utilized innovative matchmaking platforms to achieve a win-win strategy for food delivery and ride-hailing services. The seminar was hosted by Edison Chen, who is also Uber's Advertising Partner Manager.

During the interactive session, Andy shared insights on how Uber built a premium brand image and successfully captured consumers' minds, making it the preferred choice for delivery and ride-hailing services. He emphasized that Uber's advertising strategy aims to increase company profitability and deepen user impressions through constantly innovative advertising content and expand its customer base. Andy also revealed that one of the tricks to attracting customers is maintaining the freshness of advertisements while providing genuinely useful information to consumers, thus continuously promoting repeat purchases.

Moreover, Andy prompted students to contemplate their career path planning by sharing his own journey, which involved studying various subjects such as computer programming, economics, and statistics before joining Uber. He encouraged students to understand deeply whether the work they aspire to aligns with their interests and goals and how to achieve a win-win situation with the company. Senior Operations Manager Jason Jing also added that Uber's global presence requires a continuous understanding of consumer needs.

This event not only deepened GCIT students' understanding of the importance of global communication and innovation technology but also provided them with valuable industry insights and career planning directions, receiving unanimous praise from both faculty and students.
