GCIT Celebrates Year-End with Students, Staff, and Leadership

The Master’s Program of Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) office organized its year-end gathering before Lunar New Year at Sichuan Restaurant. The event brought both the new and former program directors together, offering an early celebration for international students who stayed in Taiwan. It also served as a gesture of appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the program's office staff. Amidst the lively atmosphere, participants joyfully exchanged New Year celebration cultures and traditions. This gathering not only expressed gratitude and reflection on the past year but also conveyed expectations and aspirations for the Year of Dragon.

In addition to express sincere gratitude to the GCIT colleagues, the former director Mei-Ling Hsu, the Distinguished Professor of the Department of Journalism at National Chengchi University, conveyed her best wishes for the new GCIT director, Professor Trisha Tsui-Chuan Lin, from the Department of Radio and Television. Since Fall 2021, Professor Hsu has painstakingly developed this program from the ground up., This two-year old EMI master program which currently has over 80 current students from 12 countries has produced ten graduates by far. Director Lin highly appreciated Professor Hsu’s hardworking dedications in establishing a strong foundation for this unique program as well as consistently sharing her experiences. Director Lin will strive for advancing GCIT towards its international communication and innovation technology objectives.

Students from various countries, including Ukraine, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Tanzania, cheerfully participated in this warm-hearted year-end gathering. They enjoyed local delicacies such as sweet and sour fish, Hakka-style stir-fried squid, and pineapple shrimp balls, while engaging in interesting cross-cultural exchanges. After lunch, Director Lin distributed red envelopes with customized USB drives to the students and wished them an auspicious year to come. GCIT team welcomes the Year of the Dragon with a warm and unified atmosphere and remains committed to nurturing multi-culture and technology-savvy talents for global communication objectives.
