The inauguration ceremony of new National Chengchi University (NCCU) President, Li Tsai-yen, and a handover ceremony for the supervisors, took place on Aug. 1 at the College of Commerce's E.SUN Hall. 

Li said the position is, so far, the greatest challenge of his life and expressed gratitude to the executive supervisors who have accepted the challenge with him. Li compared development of the university to a relay race. “You run fast after the baton is handed to you,” he said.

Li said that he would turn the university into a digital, diverse, strong, public, and poetic place. Quoting the German poet Martin Heidegger's poem, “Poetic Dwelling,” Li said that people should not only make good use of technology, but they should also pay attention to their quality of life and inner peace. Furthermore, he hoped that every faculty and student would be able to conduct academic research freely and learn happily.

The handover ceremony for the supervisors began after the presidential inauguration. Li distributed letters of appointment to the new directors and presented souvenirs to those who had resigned.
