On July 30, 2026, Assistant Professor Christine Cook of National Chengchi University’s Master’s Program in Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) participated in a campus visit organized by NCCU’s Office of International Cooperation (OIC) for a delegation of approximately 25 Vietnamese high school students. During the session, she introduced the students to GCIT’s academic focus, learning resources, and future educational and professional pathways.
The information session was designed to provide the visiting students with an overview of NCCU’s international learning environment and the distinctive strengths of its academic programs. Professor Cook presented GCIT’s interdisciplinary curriculum, which integrates global communication, innovative technologies, and practice-based learning.
Drawing on the experiences of current students and alumni, she highlighted a range of academic and professional achievements, including participation in international conferences, domestic internships and overseas learning experiences, professional content creation, and the pursuit of doctoral studies. These examples illustrated how GCIT supports students in developing academic expertise, international perspectives, practical skills, and diverse career pathways.
Professor Cook said, “Because the audience consisted primarily of high school students, I wanted to share real stories about what our current students and alumni have accomplished and help them see the many possibilities available to them. Whether presenting at international conferences, travelling around the world, becoming professional content creators, or pursuing doctoral degrees, these experiences can inspire students to continue learning and consider further study after completing their undergraduate education.”
She also encouraged the students to continue exploring their interests and professional aspirations, and to consider how graduate education can deepen their expertise, broaden their international experience, and expand their future career opportunities.
