The College of Foreign Languages and Literature’s Higher Education Sprout Project “Cultural Identity in a Global Perspective” Series Event: “Identity, Cultural Interaction, and Integration in Turkish-Taiwanese Marriages” Photography and Video Exhibition is on display from Monday, November 3 to Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the first floor of the Information Building of National Chengchi University. The exhibition is jointly organized by the Department of Turkish Language and Culture and the Master’s Program in Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies, bringing together efforts from multiple parties to present this meaningful event. The opening ceremony was held at 11:00 a.m. on November 3. Interviewed Taiwan–Turkey families and their relatives, faculty and students of the college, as well as members of the Taiwan–Turkey community living in Taiwan enthusiastically participated, witnessing the touching results of this cross-cultural exchange.
The ceremony began with a speech by Professor Chao Ching-Chi, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Literature, who introduced the content and purpose of the project and affirmed its contribution to the issues of identity in Taiwan and the understanding of multiculturalism. A highlight video produced by the project team was then screened, showcasing the sincere interactions and deep emotions of Taiwan–Turkey families in their daily lives. Guests then toured the exhibition area, appreciating photography and interview recordings of multiple transnational marriage families, gaining deeper insights into the coexistence and blending of language, life, and culture in transnational marriages. Traditional Turkish dessert “Baklava,” along with tea and coffee, were served at the exhibition site. Four Taiwan–Turkey families attended and interacted warmly with guests, creating a heartfelt atmosphere. Group photos were taken to commemorate the occasion, marking a warm conclusion to the opening ceremony.
During the exhibition, a 10-minute highlight video will be played repeatedly in silent mode with Chinese subtitles. Each family portrait includes a QR code that allows viewers to watch the interview videos and read the related family stories. The exhibition will be open until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5. We warmly welcome visitors from both inside and outside the university to explore the multifaceted aspects of cultural integration and identity.
