The Global Communication and Innovation Technology Master's Degree Program (GCIT) at National Chengchi University has collaborated with the Asia-Pacific MarTech Transformation Alliance Association (AMT) to host the "2024 Marketing Digital Transformation Asia-Pacific Brand Summit" at NCCU on March 1. This marks the first time GCIT has been a summit co-organizer.
The event will feature distinguished guests, including Digital Minister Audrey Tang (via video speech), Director of the MOEA Su Wenling, Director of the Youth Development Administration Chen Xueyu, and Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Development Huang Yaping. Microsoft and CNN will also participate, and heavyweight speakers such as International & Line Taiwan will share the latest applications of generative AI technology in Martech. The summit anticipates the presence of 400 business technology industry participants.
To provide an immersive experience for the audience, the venue will showcase a virtual live broadcast studio and an AI virtual spokesperson, among other things.
Professor Trisha Lin, who became the director of GCIT in February, welcomes everyone on behalf of NCCU. GCIT is co-organizing the summit for the first time, and Director Lin introduced GCIT during her speech. GCIT is a program that has been established for more than two years and focuses on cultivating cross-field talents who can use technology for international communication and innovation. The program is bilingual, professional, and practice-oriented, and emphasizes industry-university cooperation and internships both at home and abroad. The goal of GCIT is to cultivate ready-to-use talents for the industry. "Innovation" is the common goal of AMT & GCIT, and we look forward to closer industry-university cooperation with AMT in the future and more exchanges with friends in the industry.
Director Lin believes that the development of generative AI is inevitable. Its growth is faster than any other technology, leading to many disruptive innovations. It will enhance content production and dissemination, data management, customer experience, and usage. As consumer behavior transforms, companies are still struggling to overcome uncertainties. The 2024 Asia Pacific CEO Survey indicates that 97% of CEOs in the Asia-Pacific region have considered corporate innovation and reinvention in response to the AI trend. However, 63% are still concerned about its feasibility, and the percentage of concerns has increased by 10% since last year.
Ever since AI became smarter, humans have been worried about their jobs being replaced. In 2024, Accenture predicts that generative AI will become more humane and capable. The development of generative AI has brought many hidden worries. The Screen Actors Guild went on strike for 118 days, the longest period in Hollywood in 63 years. For the second time in history, the failure to reach a consensus on "AI copyright use" is an important controversy. In addition, generative AI has also caused problems such as false information, content hallucination, and personal privacy. It deserves the attention, reflection, and countermeasures of all countries.
According to the Dentsu 2024 media trend forecast, the development of generative AI has become a central focus in communication media. "Generative search", "creativity reimagined", and "generative optimizations" are three key aspects of this trend. National Chengchi University's GCIT program has launched courses related to the application of generative AI in content enterprise and AI governance. In mid-April, Dr. Sunny Liu, the Research Director at Stanford Social Media Lab, will give a lecture on the latest AI research topics at NCCU. Everyone is welcome to participate in this grand event.
The summit's speeches on generative AI and innovative marketing technology were fruitful for GCIT's teachers, students, and guests. Everyone looks forward to future industry-university collaborations with AMT.
