Over the decades, alumni have attained outstanding accomplishments in a number of fields, including diplomacy, foreign languages, communications, law, taxation, land administration, finance, and business and management. For example, starting from 1980, 12 of the 19 director generals of the Government Information Office have been NCCU alumni; and since 1990, NCCU alumni have accounted for six of a total of 14 foreign ministers. NCCU is a cradle for the country's most important leaders.

Alumni representatives, such as former National Policy Adviser to the Presidential Office, Jinyi Qiu, and Academia Sinica academician, Ovid Tseng, delivered remarks during the Inauguration Meeting, expressing respect and gratitude for their alma mater. The Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council and former NCCU Distinguished Professor, Chen-Yuan Tung, also attended the event and delivered remarks.

The World Alumni Association (WAA) consists of alumni associations from each academic department and college, and every region both in Taiwan and overseas. These associations selected a total of 35 members and five supervisors for the WAA, with recommended candidates including former NCCU President, Chang King-yuh, former Senior Adviser to the President, Hu Wei-chen, Chairman of Mega Financial Holdings, Chang Chao-shun, Vice-chairman of Shin Kong Financial Holding, Chou Chun-chi, Chairman of Daikin Inc, Antonio Su, Founder of Sinyi Group, Chou Chun-chi, and Chairman of Actron Technology Corporation, Lu Ming-kuang. Meanwhile, senior consultants for the WAA include successful alumni from industry, government, and academia, such as Francisco Ou, Timothy Yang, David Chung, Lin Hsiang-nung, Kao Koong-lian, and Shen fang-cheng.

The WAA stated that, in addition to well-established alumni associations in cities across Taiwan, as well as in California (US), Malaysia, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, and Melbourne, other alumni organizations have gradually been set up in recent times, both locally and overseas. Indeed, all NCCU departments have established alumni social clubs to vigorously promote alumni services.

Founded 93 years ago, National Chengchi University has produced 140,000 graduates located in regions across the globe. It recently set up the NCCU World Alumni Association. The President of the Association, Chang King- yuh, explained that the main goal in establishing the global organization was to pool together the resources of NCCU's 140,000 alumni, to convert these resources into momentum for administrative development and progress, and to create a relationship between alma mater and alumni characterized by close integration, mutual support, and common good.
