Mexican Trade Services Documentation and Culture Office in Taipei (hereafter, “Mexican Trade Office”) holds a photograph exhibition of Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and her husband Diego Rivera starting October 2nd, 2017, in the lobby of NCCU’s Main Library. Honorable guests Mr. Martin Torres Gutierrez Rubio, Director of Mexican Trade Office, and Mr. Dmitrii Polianskii, Representative of Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation, attended the opening ceremony.

“This is not the first cultural cooperation between NCCU and Mexican Trade Office”, NCCU Vice President Dr. CHANG Chun-Chig (張昌吉) said in the opening ceremony. Back in 2014, Mexican Trade Office also held a 3- week photograph exhibition of the famous artist Miguel Millo’s masterpieces in NCCU. Both parties were looking forward to this second significant cooperation since then. Dr. CHANG believed that NCCU has received one of the best presents from Mexican Trade Office for organizing this fabulous photograph exhibition in its 90th anniversary.

To help people understand the artists’ works, Mexican Trade Office’s Director, Mr. TORRES elaborated on Diego and Frida’s lives, background of their art works, and the way they become symbolic icons for Mexicans and worldwide modern artists/designers. The Mexican Trade Office further arranged typical Mexican buffet lunch for all the attendees on 2nd floor of the Administration Building of NCCU.

Vice President Dr. CHANG and Director TORRES agree to deepen the connections and interactions between NCCU and top Mexican educational institutes in the near future.

The photograph exhibition is opened to everybody until October 20th, 2017.
