〈NCCU's 91st Anniversary〉Awards are given in the 91st Anniversary Celebration Ceremony

The 91st Anniversary Celebration Ceremony on May 18 started with performances by NCCU Symphony Orchestra and the Magic Club. Awards to the distinguished alumni, faculty, administration staff, and academic researchers of NCCU were all granted in the event.
President Edward Chow (周行一) gratefully stated that under the endeavor of the faculty and staff, the University has accomplished the implementation of Curriculum Restructuring Project, renovation of the Gymnasium, founding of Men’s Basketball Division I Varsity, and building of the library in Zhi-nan Village. Besides, Chow encouraged faculty and students to take extra care of their physical health and to keep the spirit of sport in NCCU. As a prominent university in Taiwan, NCCU will continue to recruit the best professors and create a more internationalized education environment.
This year, nine elected distinguished alumni, namely CHIAO Lung Ching (喬龍慶), Antonio SU (蘇一仲), Ovid TZENG (曾志朗), LIN Hwai-Min (林懷民), LEE Ming-huei (李明輝), Ho Fei-Peng (何飛鵬), LIN Wen-Wei (林文偉), YANG Tze-Kaing (楊子江) and Lora HO (何麗梅) (in order of the year of graduation) were awarded in the Ceremony.
Four of the elected distinguished alumni appreciated NCCU’s cultivation in both knowledge and personal charisma which enable them to contribute to the society. Lee Ming-huei thanked the University for the strict training even under resource shortage. That experience turned him to be tough and competitive when studying for the Ph.D. in Germany. Lora Ho, graduated from the Department of Accounting, was grateful to put the training of the University into full practice. Ho Fei-Peng stated that it is the passion of football that brings him back to campus regularly. YANG Tze-Kaing expressed his everlasting love to the University but being humble to be awarded the distinguished alumni.
NCCU also conferred the “2016 Faculty and Researchers Outstanding Service Award” to Professors Kao Li-Feng (高莉芬), Tsai Tzu-Chieh (蔡子傑), Anna Yan (顏玉明), Jiang Tsui-Fen (姜翠芬), Chen Mei-Fen (陳美芬), Wang Yae-Wei (王亞維) and Chen Yu-Hui (陳幼慧), to appreciate their contributions and services to faculty and students on campus.
In addition, five professors have received the “2017 Academic Research Honor Award” and 30 professors received the “2017 Outstanding Academic Research Award.” To encourage the improvement of service quality, 10 administrative staff were entitled the “2017 Outstanding Administrative Staff Award.” The ceremony also awarded 6 outstanding students with “2017 Dao-Nan Outstanding Students Medal Award,” and 3 undergraduate students also received “Mr. Chen Bainian's Academic Paper Awards.”
