On October 19, the Master’s Program in Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) at National Chengchi University (NCCU) hosted an Professional Advising lecture titled “The Human Side of AI: Designing Smarter Interactions.” Joseph Wang, Founder and CEO of OSENSE Technology, introduced students to AI agent applications in content production and enterprise services through industry case studies and live demonstrations.

From telephone customer service to video production, AI agents are increasingly becoming part of business and public-sector organizations' workflows. Joseph demonstrated OSENSE’s Qubby AI and OVideo platforms and shared cases involving the Taiwan Railway Corporation and the Taipei City Government's Department of Social Welfare, explaining how AI can improve telephone customer service. Using a GCIT promotional video as an example, he also demonstrated the complete process of analyzing website content, writing a storyboard, and generating a video with AI.

Through the video production demonstration, Joseph further explained the difference between traditional software and AI agents. Traditional software requires users to select functions and issue commands step by step, while AI agents can break down and perform multiple tasks based on a user’s goal. “It is not a matter of one replacing the other. They will coexist,” he said. “Combining the two interfaces will allow more people to access powerful AI capabilities.”

For technology to deliver real-world impact, the key remains how humans and machines divide responsibilities. Joseph explained, “Future agents or AI models will definitely not be limited to a simple chat box. The real key is whether we can achieve the right handoff between human judgment and machine action.” In other words, AI can perform tasks at appropriate stages, while humans retain responsibility for judgment and decision-making.

Professor Tammy Lin, Director of GCIT, praised the lecture as “professionally rigorous and exceptionally rich in content.” She noted that “Innovation Technology” is embedded in GCIT’s very name, making it essential for students to understand how AI and other emerging technologies are reshaping industries and communication practices. By bringing first-hand industry knowledge and practical experience into the classroom, the Professional Advising program helps students connect their academic learning with future career paths.
