Faculty Position in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics National Chengchi University, Taipei, Taiwan
The Graduate Institute of Linguistics at National Chengchi University is inviting applications for a faculty position (Assistant Professor) in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics, provisionally starting on August 1, 2027.
Job description
We are looking for a motivated faculty member with a Ph.D. in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics who can contribute to our international research profile and provide cutting-edge teaching in a cross-disciplinary environment.
The position offered is equivalent to a tenure-track appointment. Salaries are based on official salary scales and will be commensurate to rank and experience. The appointee will have access to Taiwan’s comprehensive health insurance system and civil servant retirement package.
Selection criteria
Required
1.Ph.D. degree in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree completed before the start date of the appointment.
2.Demonstrated experience in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics.
3.Ability to teach graduate-level and undergraduate-level courses in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics.
4.Ability to teach general education courses related to one’s specialty in an interdisciplinary context.
5.Ability to supervise graduate students and participate in administrative tasks.
6.Ability to conduct competitive interdisciplinary research in national and international contexts.
Desired
1.Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants.
2.Capability of handling administrative duties in Mandarin Chinese.
