Stanford University recently published the "2024 World's Top 2% Scientists" list. This year, seven professors from National Chengchi University (NCCU) stood out and received this prestigious recognition on the "Lifetime Scientific Impact Rankings." The honorees include Chair Professor Tsai Ming-Yueh(蔡明月) and Distinguished Professor Chen Chih-Ming(陳志銘) from the Graduate Institute of Library, Information, and Archival Studies, Distinguished Professor Chen Shu-Heng(陳樹衡) from the Department of Economics, Professor Yang Henry (楊亨利) and Professor Zhao Yu(趙玉) from the Department of Management Information Systems, Distinguished Professor Chiu Chih-Sheng(邱志聖) from the Department of International Business, and Distinguished Professor Yeh Yu-Chu(葉玉珠) from the Institute of Teacher Education.
In addition, seven professors from NCCU were also awarded in the "Annual Scientific Impact Rankings." These include Chair Professor Tsai Ming-Yueh(蔡明月) and Distinguished Professor Chen Chih-Ming(陳志銘) from the Graduate Institute of Library, Information and Archival Studies, Professor Wu Li-Yu(巫立宇) from the Department of Business Administration, Distinguished Professor Chiu Chih-Sheng(邱志聖) from the Department of International Business, Distinguished Professor Lin Jih-Hsuan(林日璇) from the College of Communication, Associate Professor Peng Yen-Tsung(彭彥璁) from the Department of Computer Science, and Distinguished Professor Yeh Yu-Chu(葉玉珠) from the Institute of Teacher Education. These achievements highlight the university's deep-rooted cultivation results in the social sciences and business and underscore its outstanding contributions to international academic research.
The Lifetime Scientific Impact Ranking and the Annual Scientific Impact Ranking are based on data from Scopus, the world's most extensive abstract and citation database. The rankings evaluate scientists' long-term research performance through various indicators (including total citations, h-index, the Schreiber Hm-index adjusted for co-authorship, and citation counts for solo, first, or single-author papers). NCCU has permanently emphasized comprehensive and diverse evaluations of research quality; in addition to quantitative achievements in various aspects, the university also emphasizes the quality, innovation, and practical impact of academic research while continuously investing resources to pursue academic excellence and societal contributions.
