"The Graduate Institute of Linguistics helps graduate students acquire a comprehensive and well-balanced understanding of both theoretical and applied linguistics. We encourage students to study different subfields and different theoretical currents in linguistics and applied linguistics, and integrate their insights with knowledge from other disciplines, such as education, sociology, psychology, cognitive science, and computer science. Research facilities include laboratories for phonology, syntax, language acquisition and psycholinguistics, and the Institute publishes the Taiwan Journal of Linguistics, Taiwan’s leading scholarly journal in the field. Our faculty is active in academic research on languages in Taiwan and around the world. "
