In this session, we invite Teagan Buckley, Head of Institutional Partnerships (APAC) at the Canton Foundation, to introduce the Canton Network—co-chaired by DTCC and Euroclear, with participation from Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and BNP Paribas—and explore how institutional finance achieves privacy, compliance, and cross-institutional settlement on a public blockchain.

提到區塊鏈，多數人想到的是加密貨幣價格的漲跌。但在你看不到的地方，全球最大的金融機構早已開始把債券、回購、基金與抵押品搬上鏈，真正在處理每天的資金流動。 

When most people think of blockchain, they think of cryptocurrency price fluctuations. Yet behind the scenes, the world’s largest financial institutions have already begun moving bonds, repos, funds, and collateral on-chain, actively processing daily capital flows.

問題是：銀行不可能把客戶的交易資料公開給全世界看，也必須符合各國監管要求。那麼，機構級的金融交易，要如何在區塊鏈上運作？ 

The challenge is clear: banks cannot expose client transaction data to the entire world, and they must comply with strict regulatory requirements across jurisdictions. So how do institutional-grade financial transactions actually operate on a blockchain?

Canton Network 是一條專為機構金融打造的公鏈，讓金融機構能在彼此串連的應用之間交易，同時保有隱私、控制權與監理合規。負責治理其 Global Synchronizer 的 Canton Foundation，由美國存管信託及結算公司（DTCC）與歐洲清算銀行（Euroclear）共同擔任主席，成員包括 Goldman Sachs、HSBC、BNP Paribas、Broadridge、Tradeweb、Moody’s Ratings 等全球金融機構。 

The Canton Network is a public blockchain purpose-built for institutional finance, enabling financial institutions to transact across interconnected applications while preserving privacy, control, and regulatory compliance. The Canton Foundation, which governs its Global Synchronizer, is co-chaired by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and Euroclear, with global financial members including Goldman Sachs, HSBC, BNP Paribas, Broadridge, Tradeweb, and Moody’s Ratings.

Teagan Buckley｜Canton Foundation 亞太區機構合作負責人 Teagan Buckley | Head of Institutional Partnerships, APAC, Canton Foundation

駐台與金融機構、市場基礎設施業者及監理機關密切合作，推動機構區塊鏈採用、資產代幣化、抵押品流動與跨境結算。加入 Canton 前，曾於多個 Web3 基礎設施與協議生態系擔任業務開發及產品職務。畢業於華盛頓大學機械工程學系，輔修應用數學，英語與中文皆流利。 Based in Taiwan, Teagan works closely with financial institutions, market infrastructure providers, and regulators to drive institutional blockchain adoption, asset tokenization, collateral mobility, and cross-border settlement. Prior to joining Canton, he held business development and product roles across several Web3 infrastructure and protocol ecosystems. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington, and is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
