Date : 2021-09-24 Department : Secretariat

Message from the Secretariat

In response to the start of the Semester, the following adjusted measures will be implemented from September 27th to cooperate with the regulations of the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) and following the resolutions of the University’s Epidemic Prevention Meeting.

I. Academic Affairs:

1. The courses will be conducted with the following principles, based on the number of people in the classroom:

  1. Less than 50 people: On-site teaching
  2. Between 51 to 79 people: On-site teaching in principle. Teachers can conduct the course with a hybrid teaching method (remote/on-site)
  3. 80 people or above: Remote teaching

2. The above arrangements must comply with the ‘Guidelines for University and College Preventative Measures against COVID-19’: Number of people indoor is limited to 80 in maximum; maintaining social distancing (2.25 sqm/ppl); having fixed members and fixed seating plan; implementing attendance roll calls in the classroom; wearing face masks at all times and no eating and drinking in class; Keeping well ventilation and cleaning and disinfecting the classroom on a regular basis.

3. The rest measures are still implemented by following the Epidemic Prevention Guidelines announced on September 8th.

II. Dining Area Arrangement:

1. Dining is available at the on-campus restaurant (Enjoy Cafeteria), equipped with partitions and having checkerboard seating in place, or outdoor seating areas near The Main Library/Dah Hsian Library, or other outdoor seating areas on the campus. Masks can only be taken off while having the meal.

2. If there is sufficient space to keep social distancing, it is allowed to dine in the classroom between course sessions. The Office of Academic Affairs has reserved Classroom 270103 and Classroom 270111, which can accommodate 80 people, for students to dine in the room between 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm (Monday to Friday) during the Semester. However, subject to the limited administrative staff, every classroom is relying on users to keep the room clean and tidy. Please clean the desks after the meal with hypochlorous acid water placed in the classroom.

III. Campus Access Control Procedures:

1. Monday to Friday: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

Measure body temperature and conduct contact tracing registration. People with valid ID issued by the NCCU can access the Campus through the Main Gate (Alumni Center), East Gate, West Gate or Back Entrance. Please show your ID and cooperate with body temperature measurement at the entrance.

The inviter should compile a guest list, approved by the supervisor, three days in advance and provide the list to the Security Office for future reference. External guests can enter from the Main Gate or Back Entrance after taking the body temperature and scanning the contact tracing QR code.

2. Weekends and public holidays: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

Only the Main Gate (Alumni Center) and Back Entrance are opened for access. External guests should all access the Campus from the Main Gate. Maintain the procedures of body temperature measurement and real-name registration control at the door.
