National Chengchi University (NCCU) is pleased to announce that the International College of Innovation (ICI) will offer a bachelor's degree program for the first time next year. ICI will open enrollment to 40 international students and 10 local students. All the local students will be admitted to universities through individual application. This bachelor's program aims to foster talents around the world. Courses offered include global governance, Asian studies, and international finance. Students are expected to go to overseas partner universities for a year under the Learning Away from Home program after their third year of study.

ICI, NCCU's tenth college, is committed to nurturing elite talents with a global perspective and learning capabilities in different fields. Fu-Kuo Liu, Dean of the International College of Innovation, said that the majority of the college’s courses are conducted in English. The courses include global governance, Asian studies, information technology and innovation. In addition, the college invites lecturers from industry, academia, and politics, including domestic and overseas outstanding scholars, experts, business leaders and retired government officials. Liu pointed out that ICI attempts to cultivate future leaders around the world through professional and meticulously designed courses, and enable closer connections between NCCU and the world.
The admission of local students is based on college entrance exam scores. Candidates' scores in Chinese must meet at least the average standard, while in English and social science they are required to meet the top standard, and their English listening skills should be at an advanced level. In the second phase of screening, the examination materials include an essay which focuses on the topic "Global Development and Taiwan". Students are required to be interviewed in both English and
Chinese.

In addition to bilingual courses in Chinese and English, Liu explains that ICI collaborates with the College of Foreign Languages and Literature to provide Asian language courses like Japanese, Korean and Malay to encourage the students to learn a second foreign language. Moreover, ICI arranges internship opportunities in enterprises, helping students to put their education into practice and gain work experience. This internship experience can help students increase their chances of getting
jobs.

Full scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students who participate in the Study Away from Home program in overseas partner universities. At present, ICI has partner universities in Japan, Korea, Germany and Sichuan, and the number of such universities will continue to increase in coming years.
