The ICI Student Association recently held a two-day, one-night camping trip on 10/3-4 to Yilan, bringing together 40 students from different countries for a memorable experience of exploration, teamwork, and cultural exchange. Through a series of outdoor activities, team-building games, and opportunities for informal interaction, the camp provided students with a valuable opportunity to connect with one another beyond the classroom.
The journey began at 7:00 a.m. on the first day, when the group departed for the National Center for Traditional Arts in Yilan. Upon arrival, students were divided into five teams to participate in a scavenger hunt around the center. Combining exploration and teamwork, the activity encouraged students to communicate with their teammates while discovering the traditional arts and cultural environment of the center. Students also had the option to participate in DIY activities, adding a hands-on and creative element to their visit. After completing the activities, the group had lunch together at a restaurant within the center.
In the afternoon, students participated in a series of bonding and team-building games. Designed to encourage communication and cooperation, the activities brought students from different backgrounds together and allowed them to interact in a relaxed and energetic environment. Working toward common goals also helped strengthen teamwork and foster connections among participants.
After the afternoon activities, the group travelled to the villa, where students settled in before gathering for a BBQ dinner. The evening continued with free time, giving students the freedom to choose how they wanted to spend the rest of the day. Some played cards or board games, while others sang karaoke or simply took time to relax. This informal time allowed students to continue conversations and develop friendships outside the organized activities.
On the second day, students enjoyed free time in the morning before checking out at 11:00 a.m. After having lunch together, the group headed to Waiao Beach. Students had the opportunity to relax and spend time with their teammates by the beach. The winning team from the camp's competitions was also announced and received awards, bringing the series of team activities to a celebratory conclusion.
The final stop of the trip was Dongmen Night Market. After exploring the night market and enjoying their last evening together, the students returned to NCCU, marking the end of the two-day, one-night journey.
Beyond its recreational activities, the ICI Camping 2026 provided an important opportunity for students from different countries to communicate, cooperate, and build friendships. By stepping outside the classroom and sharing experiences together, students strengthened their connections with one another and developed a greater sense of community within ICI.
The camping trip demonstrated the value of learning and connecting beyond academic settings. Through teamwork, cultural exchange, and shared experiences, students created lasting memories and further strengthened the international spirit of the ICI community.
