National Chengchi University’s Master’s Program in Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) held its admissions information session on September 21 in a hybrid format, attracting more than 40 prospective applicants from Taiwan and abroad. More than ten participants attended in person, while over 30 joined online. Hosted by GCIT Director Professor Tammy Lin, the session provided an in-depth introduction to the program’s vision and interdisciplinary, English-taught curriculum. Assistant Professor Christine Cook joined online to share forward-looking perspectives, while Assistant Professor Tim Chang engaged prospective applicants in person. The administrative team also provided comprehensive information on admission requirements, application procedures, and key deadlines. The team highlighted graduate employment outcomes and diverse career pathways to showcase GCIT’s achievements in interdisciplinary talent development and preparation for international careers. Active participation and lively exchanges, both in person and online, reflected applicants’ strong interest in GCIT’s curriculum and career development resources.
GCIT Director Tammy Lin stated: "GCIT brings together global communication, new media, and forward-looking technological innovation. Through an English-taught learning environment and abundant cross-disciplinary resources, we are committed to cultivating students who can transform creativity and professional insight into real-world outcomes with global impact."
Addressing the rapid pace of industry trends, GCIT Assistant Professor Christine Cook highlighted that amidst the waves of generative AI and emerging digital technologies, students must go beyond mastering fundamental communication and technology skills. They must also nurture cross-cultural communication, critical thinking, and agile innovation to truly stand out in the fast-evolving global digital landscape.
GCIT Assistant Professor Tim Chang further emphasized the core teaching philosophy in GCIT that balances theory with practice. Students can continuously build industry-recognized portfolios through research projects, university-industry partnerships, and internship opportunities, establishing a distinct competitive edge in their careers.
The event also featured alumni testimonial videos, offering participants first-hand insights into the GCIT learning experience and graduates’ career development. GCIT alumni have demonstrated strong competitiveness as interdisciplinary professionals, pursuing careers across a wide range of fields, including news media, technology and fintech, brand marketing, public policy, aviation and tourism, and cultural content. Their employers include prominent organizations such as the Taipei Times, Taiwan Television (TTV), Next TV, Delta Electronics, Lite-On Technology, Yahoo Taiwan, China Airlines, and the Fulbright Taiwan Foundation. International alumni have also chosen to build their careers in Taiwan or pursue opportunities in Southeast Asia and Europe in higher education, technology media, and international nonprofit organizations. According to a follow-up survey conducted through May 2026, 76.9% of graduates had secured employment, pursued further education, or established other professional pathways, demonstrating GCIT’s tangible achievements in talent development and preparation for international careers.
Following the session, one participant remarked, “The information session was exceptionally well organized and further confirmed that GCIT is the only program I want to apply to.” Looking ahead, GCIT will continue to strengthen its international curriculum and interdisciplinary faculty, expand access to internship and exchange opportunities in Taiwan and abroad, and cultivate a new generation of global communication professionals equipped with global perspectives, digital expertise, and practical capabilities.
