On June 22, 2026, Mr. Higashijima Kentaro, Managing Director of NHK Technologies, Inc., and Mr. Koji Wada, Deputy Manager of Business Development Division in the Media Engineering Department, visited the Master’s Program in Global Communication and Innovation Technology (GCIT) at National Chengchi University. They were accompanied by Mr. Ken-Ji Lee, XR/VP Immersive Media Production Supervisor, International & Strategy Development Department of Public Television Service (PTS).
The visiting delegation was received by Professor Tammy Lin, Director of GCIT, Assistant Professor Christine Cook, Assistant Professor Tim Chang, and the GCIT team. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on immersive media, advanced audiovisual production technologies, international content development, and opportunities for students to participate in overseas internships and industry exchange.
During the meeting, Mr. Higashijima brought an Apple Vision Pro to demonstrate NHK Technologies’ applications in 8K production and stereoscopic audiovisual content. The delegation explained how sound sources can be positioned in three-dimensional space to create a stronger sense of direction and presence, delivering a more immersive audiovisual experience. They also shared how NHK Technologies integrates advanced technologies to drive continued innovation across its core businesses in content production, transmission, and distribution.
Professor Lin introduced GCIT’s curriculum design, the diverse backgrounds of its students, and the program’s direction for international industry collaboration. The two sides also discussed the feasibility of arranging future visits, internships, and professional exchange opportunities for GCIT students at NHK Technologies. Both parties expressed strong interest in further collaboration and in creating more opportunities for students to engage with international media technology industries and emerging applications.
The delegation also toured the GCIT media studio, gaining a closer understanding of the program’s facilities and plans for digital content production, hands-on audiovisual training, and interdisciplinary course development. The visit concluded with a group photo overlooking Taipei 101 from a high point on campus, marking a successful exchange that combined professional dialogue with warm and friendly interaction.
