The College of Communication at National Chengchi University (NCCU) and the Department of Communication at Yonsei University formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a student exchange agreement on April 23, strengthening bilateral academic cooperation. The signing ceremony, held in the College of Communication Building at NCCU, marked the launch of a strategic partnership focused on advancing internationalization in the Asia-Pacific region.
The agreement underscores both institutions’ commitment to fostering international academic mobility and collaboration, including expanding opportunities for student exchange and study abroad programs. In her remarks, Dean Hsiu-Hui Sun of NCCU emphasized the importance of international collaboration for contemporary communication studies, noting that, “collaboration with Yonsei University –an internally recognized leader in the field– will further enhance the global influence of both institutions.”
Both NCCU and Yonsei reaffirmed their long-term commitment to advancing the field of communication through shared expertise and institutional resources. Dr. Hyunjin Song, Chair of the Department of Communication at Yonsei, highlighted that the agreement represents more than a formal partnership, stating, “it reflects a shared commitment to excellence in advancing communication research and education.”
This partnership followed NCCU's visit to Yonsei in October 2025. At that time, the delegation, led by Dean Hsiu-Hui Sun, engaged in in-depth discussions on future collaboration. As leading communication research institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, NCCU College of Communication and the Department of Communication at Yonsei exhibit a strong alignment in their academic standards and international outlook.
The event concluded with a group photo featuring key faculty members from both universities. Participants included Dean Hsiu-Hui Sun and representatives from NCCU’s College of Communication, along with Dr. Hyunjin Song and Dr. Yoon Hi Sung from Yonsei University. The MOU establishes a strong foundation for future transnational research collaboration and enriched student mobility between NCCU in Taiwan and Yonsei University in South Korea.
