Announcement (April 7, 2020)

Date : 2020-04-07 Department : Office of International Cooperation (OIC)

To ensure an effective response to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic and to minimize disruption to the university’s educational mission, NCCU courses with 40 or more students will rehearse distance learning from April 14 to16 (Tuesday to Thursday). Please pay close attention to the following details.

1. Students in the affected courses may participate from home and do not need to come to campus. To ensure a smooth transition, please download and familiarize yourself with the required software prior to the trial, and pay attention to the instructor’s directions regarding the use of synchronous and/or asynchronous learning methods.

2. Other alternatives will be made for courses involving real-time face-to-face interaction (e.g., physical education classes, internships or laboratory-based classes).

3. NCCU will immediately alert students of any Ministry of Education decision to move classes online.

4. For details, please refer to the NCCU Office of Academic Affairs March 30 announcement: “Lecture methods at NCCU during COVID-19” (有關本校因應新冠肺炎疫情發展相關教學方式說明). Virtual classes will still be subject to class attendance monitoring, and all participants will be expected to maintain standards of in-class conduct.
