The College of Commerce at National Chengchi University (NCCU) has announced a partnership with Microsoft to build the first AI Business School in Taiwan. With the continuous development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Yi-Chia Chiu, Vice-Dean of the College of Commerce at NCCU indicated that the goal of the courses is to help enterprises embrace AI technology and implement organizational changes.
Introducing the popular "AI Business School" to Taiwan, Microsoft chose to work with NCCU to help Taiwanese enterprises tackle pain points and create an AI vision when transforming their businesses. The courses are designed based on practical industry experience and academic theories, accelerating the introduction of AI technology to enhance the enterprises’ competitiveness.
The one-year course will recruit a total of 20 to 30 companies and 40 to 60 students. It will charge a fee of NT$ 1.8 million per company. Unlike the AI Business School in other countries, this school does not accept individual applications, only allowing enrollment for enterprises.
AI technology has been evolving for years. Chiu indicated that it is essential to integrate AI into organizations from both a strategic and management perspective, rather than focus on operation. To cope with the changes, the College of Commerce has been adjusting and refining the courses. He indicated, “That is why we decided enrollment would be open to enterprises only.” With courses that combine theory and practice, Chiu expects to assist enterprises in preparing for AI technology and help facilitate changes to their business.
