Three Semi-Finalists Enter NCCU Presidential Election

The approval election of the Presidential candidates took place from June 13 to 15. The seven Presidential candidates were Dean of the College of Social Science Min-Hsiu Chiang (江明修), Professor Tsai-Yen Li (李蔡彥) of the Department of Computer Sciences, Dean of the College of Communication Yuan-Huei Lin (林元輝), Vice President of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) Professor Chung-I Lin (林從一), NCCU Vice President Chun-Chig Chang (張昌吉), Professor Yih-Chyi Chuang (莊奕琦) of the Department of Economics, and Professor Ming-Cheng Kuo (郭明政) of the Department of Law. The total number of eligible voters is 837, members including faculty, staff, and student representatives. The number of actual voters is 659, with a voting rate of 78.5%.
 
Among the seven candidates, Professors Tsai-Yen Li, Yuan-Huei Lin, and Ming-Cheng Kuo passed the approval election and became the acceptable semi-finalist candidates. They will be invited to the 5th Presidential Committee Meeting on July 22 to give a presentation about their visions for the campus and answer relevant questions. The one that passes half of the votes of the President Selection Committee will then be forwarded to the Ministry of Education for approval and final appointment.
