Updates on Novel Coronavirus at NCCU

Date : 2020-02-05 Department :

Office of International Cooperation

Dear students and members of the NCCU community,

In recent days, you may have heard of reports about a new coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China. National Chengchi University is actively monitoring the situation, and at this point there are no known cases of the virus at NCCU. This is an evolving situation and we would like to inform you about the steps which NCCU is taking to keep the campus safe.

The incubation period for the novel coronavirus is two weeks. Individuals who recently had travelled to affected areas in China (in particular Wuhan city, Wenzhou city and Guangdong province), or who had possibly come in contact with an infected person, should monitor their health for 14 days, including taking temperature daily, washing hands frequently, wearing facial masks when coughing, and avoiding any public places such as hospitals and markets. If you have fever, experience shortness of breath or other respiratory symptoms, please contact CDC hotline (1922 or 0800-001922), Physical & Mental Health Center (02-82377400), and Student Safety Center (0919-099119) immediately

To prevent the spread of novel coronavirus, we encourage ALL students and members of NCCU community to continue to take standard precautions advised by the Department of Health, Taipei City Government in https://bit.ly/2RVRq7P (available in Chinese, English, Filipino, Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian).

If possible, prepare sufficient amount of masks before coming to Taiwan in case there is temporary shortage in Taiwan market.
