In the theme of Business and Economics in Taiwan, students from University of Melbourne will be lectured by highly experienced faculty to be provided with a greater exposure to crucial issues faced by individuals and companies in Taiwan. Through the whole series of courses, students will not only have a better understanding on Asia economics trend but also go on a further discussion of cultural and creative Industries as the next economy in Taiwan. Company visits will be scheduled as well during the program to help international students know more about the business culture of enterprise in Taiwan.
Dr. Shari Shang, Associate Dean of the College of Commerce NCCU and the alumni of University of Melbourne, delivered a warm welcoming speech on the opening ceremony, expecting students from NCCU and University of Melbourne would both have a great time during the program.
This year, most of the students from Melbourne visit Taiwan for the first time. College of Commerce NCCU has organized a local buddy team which is mostly made up by freshmen to assist the international students during the whole program. On the opening ceremony, local students introduced the history, culture and lifestyle in Taiwan in an extremely impressive way such as talk show, video clips and so on. In the following two weeks, the local buddy team will also organize a series of field trips for international students to explore the beauty of Taiwan.
In these years, College of Commerce NCCU not only keeps working on the cooperation with partner university worldwide, but also puts a lot of efforts to launch study abroad program like the one with University of Melbourne, aiming to help students pay more attention to economic trend in Taiwan and to build up their global vision.
