    Rainy Weather Cannot  Stop the passion Nearly 2000 Runners Join 2017 NCCU Campus Marathon

    2017 NCCU campus marathon began on the 3rd, December. Nearly 2,000 contestants, displaying great sportsmanship, were  fearless to the rain. This year, there were 49 runners awarded the top seven honors in different age groups. Some runners aspired to participate and some challenged themselves, and some even got good grades as the new participants.

    NCCU 51st Culture Cup Choir Contest  Department of Business Administration Fulfilled “Four-repeat” Goal

    NCCU held the 51st Culture Cup Choir Contest on December 2nd, and  after a series of keen competition, the Department of Business Administration carried the “three -peat” vigor, continued to hold a post of championship. The Second Prize went to the Department of International Business, and the Department of Public Finance which was  not  the top six  last year ended up  winning  the third place. The fourth and fifth place went to the Department of Accounting and the Department of Money and Banking respectively. While the College of Law, Communication, Department of Chinese Literature, Diplomacy and Psychology were juxtaposed with the sixth prize.

    REKOVE will be representing NCCU at the regional round of Hult Prize

    Hult Prize is a student competition, open to undergraduate,graduate, and PhD students from around the world. The aim of Hult Prize is to build and launch social enterprises that can radically change the world and tackle grave issues faced by billions of people every day as well as breed the next generation of social entrepreneurs. The best ones will go to the Hult Prize Final in the United Nations in New York and win 1 million dollars.

    NCCU Wins a Bronze Medal at the 13th QS-APPLE Most Creative Corporate Institution Video Global Award

    To celebrate its 90th anniversary, Office of International Cooperation (hereafter, “OIC”) made an NCCU promotional video for the international student recruitment, which got favored by jury and won a bronze prize for the “Most Creative Corporate Institution Video” in the 13th QS-APPLE (QS Asia-Pacific Professional Leaders in Education) Conference on November 22, making NCCU the only awarded college in Taiwan.

    Scholars from 3 Asian Top Communication Programs Met in Tokyo

    Aiming to strengthen the ties between important communication institutions in Asia, National Chengchi University (NCCU), the University of Tokyo (UT), and Seoul National University (SNU) participated in a trilateral symposium in Tokyo on November 24 and 25, 2017. Around 30 professors and students from the three universities gathered to share research ideas and experience under the theme of “Media in Globalized Asia.” The symposium was capped by a visit to the Huffington Post Japan, where the participants got a good grasp of the development of online journalism in Japan. The 2018 symposium will be held for the first time at NCCU, Taiwan.

    2nd Zhongni Prize goes to Chair Prof. Chen Fangming for His Enlightening Society

    After rigorous procedures, the 2nd Zhongni Prize in 2017 was won by Chair Professor Chen Fang-ming (陳芳明) from the Graduate Institute of Taiwan Literature. By combining reading, writing, research and instruction, Prof Chen not only transmits knowledge, provides for study and dispels confusion during the class, but achieves widespread impact outside the campus and influence contemporary intellectuals. The 2nd Zhongni Prize will be held at the Sun Moon Auditorium, on the 2nd floor of the Art and Culture Center in NCCU on November 30, 2017 at 3:30 pm.. Chair Prof. Chen will give the acceptance speech. Teachers and students are kindly welcome to the ceremony.

    <The 2017 Bao-zhong Tea Festival> 35 departments rolled up their sleeves, draw the Bao-zhong Tea Festival to a perfect end

    Over 50 Partner Universities Participated in 2017 NCCU Study Abroad Fair

    Aiming to help students get the information for studying abroad, Office of International Cooperation (hereafter, “OIC”) organized the “2017 Study Abroad Fair” from October 30 to November 2. In this fair, students could get first-hand information from each partner university’s booth and also collect sticker from the booths in exchange for either lunch boxes or souvenirs.

    President Chow encourages high school students to pursue their dreams in annual Boa-zhong Tea Festival

    The annual Bao-zhong Tea Festival was held on Nov. 4. Seizing the opportunity, National Chengchi University (NCCU) students introduced the campus to senior high school students who might become future NCCU students. Voice of NCCU Radio Station launched an open studio to broadcast live interviews with President Edward Chow(周行一) and Dean of Office of Academic Affairs Yu Nai-ming(于乃明). In the interview, President Chow emphasized NCCU is the only university that is well known for its excellence in the fields of humanities and social sciences among the top ones, and encouraged high school students to pursue their dreams by joining in NCCU.
