    The 3rd Study Abroad program held by NCCU and University of Melbourne has launched on 12/4

    In 2014, Australian Government announced The New Colombo Plan which aimed to lift knowledge of the Indo Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region. Starting from 2015, University of Melbourne has cooperated with College of Commerce NCCU for the 3rd time this year. The program is designed to provide a wide array of theory and practical experiences that can build understanding in Asian Markets and be applied in the future.

    NCCU Wins a Bronze Medal at the 13th QS-APPLE Most Creative Corporate Institution Video Global Award

    To celebrate its 90th anniversary, Office of International Cooperation (hereafter, “OIC”) made an NCCU promotional video for the international student recruitment, which got favored by jury and won a bronze prize for the “Most Creative Corporate Institution Video” in the 13th QS-APPLE (QS Asia-Pacific Professional Leaders in Education) Conference on November 22, making NCCU the only awarded college in Taiwan.

    Scholars from 3 Asian Top Communication Programs Met in Tokyo

    Aiming to strengthen the ties between important communication institutions in Asia, National Chengchi University (NCCU), the University of Tokyo (UT), and Seoul National University (SNU) participated in a trilateral symposium in Tokyo on November 24 and 25, 2017. Around 30 professors and students from the three universities gathered to share research ideas and experience under the theme of “Media in Globalized Asia.” The symposium was capped by a visit to the Huffington Post Japan, where the participants got a good grasp of the development of online journalism in Japan. The 2018 symposium will be held for the first time at NCCU, Taiwan.

    Over 50 Partner Universities Participated in 2017 NCCU Study Abroad Fair

    Aiming to help students get the information for studying abroad, Office of International Cooperation (hereafter, “OIC”) organized the “2017 Study Abroad Fair” from October 30 to November 2. In this fair, students could get first-hand information from each partner university’s booth and also collect sticker from the booths in exchange for either lunch boxes or souvenirs.

    NCCU CSEAS Joins SEASIA as the First University Institute Member in Taiwan

    Under the lead of Hsin-Huang Michael Hsiao, chairman of the executive committee, NCCU Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) officially joins the Consortium of Southeast Asian Studies in Asia (SEASIA) in 2017. After strict evaluation, the membership application was approved by SEASIA on September 22. It is notable that NCCU CSEAS is the first university institute to be granted SEASIA’s membership in Taiwan.

    NCCU Cooperates with FinEx Asia to Initiate “Fintech Head-Start Program”

    Cooperating with FinEX Asia, NCCU FinTech Research Center (FTRC) officially initiated the “Fintech Head-Start Program” on September 15 in Singapore Management University. The program will offer the chosen students internship opportunities in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Silicon Valley. According to NCCU FinTech Research Center, in order to benefit Taiwan’s FinTech industry, it will work on more Industry-university collaboration projects with FinEX Asia.

    Prof. Huang Hsin-Chien won the Best VR Experience Award on the 74th Venice International Film Festival

    The new launched competition “Venice Virtual Reality” is dedicated to showcasing the best Virtual Reality films. The Festival presented a maximum of 18 world-premieres or international premiere of VR films of any length in competition.

    Brainstorming Cross-culturally, NCCU ISS now in session

    NCCU’s International Summer School (ISS) is now in session. The orientation was held on July 2, 2017, and aimed to equip participants with information about living on campus. The course provides formal Mandarin classes and 12 professional classes with a concentration on East Asia, such as: Asian Economies, China and East Asia, and Relations Across the Taiwan Strait. Fully taught in English, ISS gathers 92 international students from 15 nations and enables them to swap ideas cross-culturally.

    Fulbright marks its 60th anniversary in Taiwan and continues collaboration with NCCU

    Fulbright Taiwan marked its 60th anniversary at National Chengchi University (NCCU) by establishing the Research Workshop 2016-17 on March 8. The event, took place at NCCU’s Research and Innovation-Incubation Center, featured panel discussions and workshops with leading academics and practitioners from Hong Kong, China, Macau, Taiwan, and the U.S..
