    Nobel Laureate Economist Robert Shiller Giving Speech at NCCU

    Robert J. Shiller, the 2013 Nobel Prize Laureate in Economic Sciences and professor at Yale University, gave a speech at National Chengchi University on July 12. A great number of audience, including professors, students and financial professionals were attracted to the conference hall. Celebrating the 90th anniversary, President Chow (周行一) said it is a great honor to have Prof. Shiller come to NCCU for the series of events, as this is his only lecture on campus during his stay. Chow also regarded Prof. Shiller’s academic accomplishment as the model for NCCU’s future aim of focusing on inter-discipline .

    International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) program held information session in National Chengchi University’s Yuan-Da Lecture Hall, on the 6th floor of the College of Commerce on November 4. Professor Shari Shang, associate of Director of the IMBA program, introduced the features of the program. IMBA also invited many alumnus and current students to share their experiences in both school and career. The information session attracted many people to join.

    With Strong Foundations, Two Interdisciplinary Colleges Will Take Off

    Interdisciplinary education holds its ultimate importance in NCCU’s campus policy. With an eye to actualizing holistic education under the domain of humanities and social science, NCCU will establish two interdisciplinary colleges and the databases. College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and College of Digital Humanities and Innovation will start student recruitment from the 107th academic year, and more interdisciplinary courses will be offered year by year. Upholding “innovation follows the integration,” NCCU strives to set a distinguished example in interdisciplinary studies.

    Taiwan First AI Pepper Lab, NCCU sets up FinTech Global Research and Industry Alliance Center

    FinTech Global Research and Industry Alliance Center is officially established in NCCU on October 18th. Vice President Wang Lee-ling served as chief operating officer and cooperated with Perobot to start the first “AI Pepper Lab” in Taiwan. NCCU hopes to make progress and innovation in the field of Fintech in Taiwan through setting up FinTech GLORIA Center.
