    Prof. Tao Ya-Lun Won the New Media Art Installation Award at the 9th MADATAC in Spain

    Professor Tao Ya-Lun (陶亞倫) of the Master’s Program in Digital Content & Technologies of NCCU was invited to the 9th Contemporary Audio-Visual & New Media Arts Festival (MADATAC) in Madrid, Spain, and won the “New Media Art Installation Award” among 72 new media artist competitors from 33 countries.

    Scholars from 3 Asian Top Communication Programs Met in Tokyo

    Aiming to strengthen the ties between important communication institutions in Asia, National Chengchi University (NCCU), the University of Tokyo (UT), and Seoul National University (SNU) participated in a trilateral symposium in Tokyo on November 24 and 25, 2017. Around 30 professors and students from the three universities gathered to share research ideas and experience under the theme of “Media in Globalized Asia.” The symposium was capped by a visit to the Huffington Post Japan, where the participants got a good grasp of the development of online journalism in Japan. The 2018 symposium will be held for the first time at NCCU, Taiwan.

    Prof. Huang Hsin-Chien won the Best VR Experience Award on the 74th Venice International Film Festival

    The new launched competition “Venice Virtual Reality” is dedicated to showcasing the best Virtual Reality films. The Festival presented a maximum of 18 world-premieres or international premiere of VR films of any length in competition.

    Students, professors and alumni gathered at Sihwei Hall at NCCU on Jan. 30 to commemorate late journalism professor Hsu Chia-shih (徐佳士), who passed away on Dec. 22 last year at the age of 96.
